Overview


Langtang National Park is the first Himalayan National Park with an area of 1710km2. The highest summit of Langtang is Lirung (7245m), the Sacred Himalayan Landscape preserves transboundary landscape between Nepal and China (Tibet). It occupies alpine meadows and grassland, the temperate broadleaf and conifer forest of the eastern Himalayans. The park is listed internationally as an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBAs) on Birdlife International in 2003. Langtang National Park exhilarate a high diversity of 14 vegetation types in 18 ecosystem types, ranging from upper tropical forests below 1,000-meter altitude to alpine scrub and perennial ice.

Highlight bird 6species are Bearded Vulture, Blood Pheasant, Himalayan Monal, Spiny Babbler, Golden Eagle, Red-heaed Bullfinches, Pied Thrush, Nepal Cupwing, Yellow-rumped Honey Guide, Ibisbill (March-Sep), Tibetan Snowcock, Granada, Snow Partridge, variety of Rose finches, Accentors species, warbler species etc
